Tomorrow...

Well, tomorrow is the day! Tomorrow is the day we leave on our cruise! I can't wait! We're pulling my PICC line in about an hour and a half, and I can't wait! I've got a bunch of friends going, and it's just going to be a blast! I'll post pictures when I get back from Mexico!!!

Hospital... ha ha... yeah

This week has been... interesting, to say the least. It didn't go exactly as planned, but I am making the most of it! I was admitted to Primary Children's Medical Center on Friday, and had a PICC line placed on Saturday. I'm enjoying the whole photography thing, it's just great! I'm leaving for my cruise on Sunday next week, and as luck would have it, I'm leaving the hospital on Friday! :D This cruise is going to be so much fun... even if I do have a PICC line for it. 

 

I've decided, anesthetics and lidocaine are my 2 new favorite things in this world! My biggest fear in the world is an IV (not really, but I HATE HATE HATE them, with a burning passion). They found this new technology, where they shoot lidocaine into your hand, or arm, wherever they decide to put the IV. It's crazy, because there's no pain whatsoever. It completely numbs the area, and then they put the IV in, and when they did it to me, I didn't feel a thing! That is my new best friend! That's how I made them take labs after they took my IV out. I wouldn't let them do it with the regular butterfly needle. I made them get the IV team to put another IV in, and draw blood that way... I never thought I'd say this, but I actually didn't mind getting an IV. Who knew I would actually ever request an IV? I love lidocaine... what can I say. It's wonderful... just wonderful! 

I'm so excited to get home, to get ready for my cruise! I'll continue to post about my stay... I've found some great means of entertainment... my new favorite hobby is duct tape... so far I've made a bag, and something else that I'll post a picture of, later. I think it just might deserve its own post! :)

12 Days!

 I am so excited for Spring Break! My family is going on a cruise to Mexico! We leave in 12 days! I tried posting some pictures, but technical difficulties are keeping me from posting those! :( I am so excited, and I can't believe that it's so close! We're going with my sisters' dance group, which is awesome, because they are going to perform on the big stage in one of the theaters one of the nights! There's one night that we get to dress up for dinner, and I just so happen to have a super cute dress that I am so excited to wear. And as a plus, my best friend from drill is coming with me! I can't wait! I am so ready for spring break!

Titanic

I am a hopeless romantic... Not including love for myself. But I have been dying to see this movie for weeks now! I saw a preview for the new 3D version, and after that I have obsessed over watching it! Let's just say, Leonardo Decaprio... Wow! What a babe :) I just drooled over him during the first tape. After i put the second tape in, I was hooked. Kate Winslet and Leonardo Decaprio are amazing! I was sucked in, the whole movie was so beautiful. After the ship started sinking... Well, after the ship sank, I was a basket case. I haven't cried that much since I don't remember when. My dad came in my room and was watching the end of the movie with me, and after I started bawling, he went and told my mom that I was a wreck. And let me you, I was a wreck. It's so sad to think that that really did happen. It's surreal to think that 100 years ago this April, that th RMS Titanic ended up on the ocean floor.
I've always been fascinated by the story of the Titanic, and watching this movie has been amazing.

I love these three little girls! I've never actually met them, but I love them! They turned 1 month old this week! These three are the newest addition to our family. They are my uncle James' new daughters. They were born on my 16th birthday... which is just so cool! I had to share these pictures, because they are so cute!

Drill Moment: AGAIN

I think i hear this word more than any other word out there. I despise this word, if it were a person, it would be the kind of person that I could never get along with, I just couldn't. They would be around too much, and every time I hear this word, I hear 22 groans, and mumbled words. I think this was my coach's first word as a baby, because it's a word she uses "again and again". We know that when she says "again", we'll probably be doing that move at least six more times. I've been meaning to take a tally of how many times that word is used, but I lose count, it's said more times than necessary.

I'll try to post another drill moment "again" tomorrow :)

You know it's competition season when...

You know it's competition season when...
-Two and a half hours is a short practice
-The only thing you think about is dance
-Your nails aren't painted
-You watch your practice videos for entertainment
-You know your team better than your family
-You go to chemistry, and instead of listening, you go over your dances in your head
-You can fall asleep on a bus, and be comfortable
-Ibuprofen and Tylenol are always with you in case of sore muscles, joint pain, and headaches
-Your room never gets clean
-You can't count to eight without thinking of a sequence in a routine
-You have 123 hours of practice in a month
-Practice gets out five minutes late, and you are glad you're out "early"
-It feels weird to wear shorts without tights
-You don't know what to do with yourself when you have a day off
-Six hours of sleep is a lot
-You wake up with performance makeup still on your face
-You can pinpoint anything that's out of place because your coach has turned you into a huge perfectionist
-You sleep in until noon on Sunday because of competition exhaustion
-You eat everything you have access to
-You never make plans for the weekend because you'll either be at competition or sleeping

Yesterday was my 16th birthday! I've got to say, it was the best birthday I've ever had. For my birthday, we went down to Vegas, where we had an amazing lunch, and then an incredible tour of the HardRock Cafe. The tour ended with my uncle, Matt, singing a song that he wrote for me, as a birthday present! It was such and amazing song.
I was so fortunate as to have my whole family there, and my boyfriend, Josh. :) I'll get to that in a second. We got to tour the cafe, and dance on the stage, and it was a lot of fun! For those die hard Justin Bieber fans, I got to stand on the stage where Justin Bieber performed (I know I used to be, but I kinda got over that). Anyway, my uncle knows everything there is to know about music, so it was an incredible tour, and I learned a TON! Cool sidenote: I learned yesterday that my grandpa was in the military with Jimi Hendrix. My grandpa thought he was a total bum, and didn't believe that he was the real Jimi Hendrix... but it was the real rock and roll legend! Turns out that he went into the military just a few weeks after my grandpa, and while he was in the military, Jimi Hendrix was a total bum... how funny is that?After learning a whole lot about the Beatles, my uncle started rearranging the room. He had me sit down on a chair and he left for a few minutes. He came back with his guitar, and he sang me an incredible song that he wrote about me! After we left the Hard Rock Cafe, we headed back home. The ride home was great! Josh held my hand... finally! I've been waiting for that for who knows how long! We got home, and Josh and I decided to watch Cowboys and Aliens... which was an okay movie... I liked holding hands :) After the movie was over, he asked me to be his girlfriend! It was so perfect! Finally 16, and I've got a boyfriend! To finish off the perfect day, my aunt had her triplets! Three girls, on my birthday! I'm so excited! I get to share my birthday with my little cousins! How amazing is that?
I am loving being 16! I drove with an instructor this morning, and I'm taking my driving test on Friday! How crazy is that? I'm so excited!

Christmas Day

I love Christmas! Christmas is my favorite holiday, and today has probably been one of the best. Yesterday was a great day too! Do you remember reading about the Make-A-Wish project that I was in charge of back in May? Remember Chase? Well, my mom and I made hats for Chase, his sister, and his little brother. They were so cute! It was so much fun to get to see their family, they are so amazing! After going and visiting them for a few minutes, my mom and I went to Target to pick up a few last minute Christmas items. When we got back, my family and I had our traditional Christmas Eve Breakfast (Dinner). We had pancakes, bacon, eggs, all that amazing stuff! After dinner, we got our Christmas Eve PJ's, and my dad read the Story of the Nativity in the bible. After that, each of us shared our favorite Christmas stories! After we shared stories, my good friend, Josh came over, and he helped us deliver presents to the family we decided to Secret Santa. After we made our delivery, we came back to our house, where we played games and hung out for a while. Then I started to feel sick. After Josh left, I went straight to bed. I woke up feeling all shaky, it was really weird. I tried to eat breakfast, and I couldn't even sit up long enough, without feeling like i was going to pass out. We opened presents, and I got some super cute clothes, and a pair of very cute boots! After opening presents, I went up to my room, and slept for a couple of hours, after I woke up, I felt a lot better. Now Josh is coming over, and we're going to open up the presents we got each other :) It has been a great Christmas, with my family and friends!
Just a side note, my 16th birthday is in two days! That means Vegas... and driving... and boys :) ha ha! I'll check back in after my trip to Vegas, and tell all about it!
